USAT Sets Olympic Selection Events
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—USA Triathlon has established three selection events for triathletes to qualify for the 2008 Olympic team: the Beijing World Cup, the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at the Honolulu Triathlon and the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines. A maximum of three men’s and three women’s slots will be open based upon country and athlete rankings following the 2008 World Championships.
IWSF World Cup Will Stop In Russia
MOSCOW—International Water Ski Federation (IWSF) has announced that Dubna City in Moscow will host the Waterski and Wakeboard World Cup on July 19-20 on the Volga River. The city hosted the same competition in 2007, drawing approximately 30,000 spectators.
The World Cup will include slalom, shortboard and jump competitions.
USA Canoe/Kayak Partners With Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation
OKLAHOMA CITY—Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation has purchased a fleet of elite Nelo kayaks sporting the Chesapeake Boathouse logo for the U.S. kayaking National Sprint Team, which will train at Chesapeake Boathouse. In return, USA Canoe/Kayak will hold training and events in Oklahoma City; the first event will be a knock-out style 200-meter sprint during the 2007 Oklahoma Centennial Regatta Festival, Oct. 11-14.
